Job Description
We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced individual to join our team as a Specialist - Production Driller in Underground Mining. As Specialist - Production Driller, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and optimizing drilling operations, ensuring the successful execution of underground mining projects.
The Ideal Candidate Must Have
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in drilling operations in underground mining
- Strong knowledge of drilling techniques, equipment, and safety practices in underground mining
- Demonstrated experience in planning and executing drilling programs
- Proficiency in drilling software and tools
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams
- Willingness to work in remote locations and adapt to varying work conditions
- Knowledge of PNG mining regulations
- Mining certifications and licenses as required by relevant legislation
- Willingness to work in remote locations and adapt to changing project requirements
- Valid and current PNG Driving License is desirable
Job Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and optimize drilling operations for underground mining projects
- Develop drilling programs based on project requirements and geological data
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure drilling activities are aligned with project objectives and timelines
- Conduct performance assessments of drilling equipment and recommend maintenance or upgrades as needed
- Implement and monitor drilling safety protocols and procedures
- Analyze drilling data and provide recommendations for continuous improvement and efficiency
- Collaborate with geologists and engineers to evaluate drilling results and make adjustments to drilling programs
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in drilling technology and equipment
- Provide technical guidance and training to drilling personnel
- Collaborate with procurement teams to ensure adequate supply of drilling materials and equipment
- Maintain a high level of health and safety awareness and comply with PJV Occupational Health & Safety Policy and all health rules and procedures
Mobilization Requirement
- This position is open to PNG Citizens Only
- Rotation is FIFO 28 days on and 14 days off
- Ability to successfully pass a pre-employment medical including drug and alcohol screening
- Must Have an up-to-date Police Clearance Certificate (acquired within the last 6 months)
